Soccer Miss!!!

Brennen said, "I played soccer.  I missed the ball when I was trying to hit it with my head.  It was like a mad scientist."


We had three animal reports today.  Maia taught us about zebras.  Zebras can weigh up to 800 pounds.  No two zebras have the same stripe pattern.  Natalie taught us about wolves.  Wolves can live in many different states.  They are carnivores.  Vanessa taught us about tiger sharks.  Scientists once found a tiger shark that weighed 1780 pounds.  Tiger sharks are carnivores that will eat anything, even garbage.

New Classroom Set Up

We worked on our end of the year district math test today.  I am extremely proud of how hard our little people worked.

Tetherball Time!!

Mason said, "Pierce and I played tetherball at recess.  I got hit in the eye with the ball.  It didn't even hurt.  I didn't even cry."

Vanessa said, "We read about the rain forest.  I am allergic to something in the rain forest.  I am allergic to cacao beans."


Our math target is, "I can identify information that is not needed in a problem in order to find the answer so that I can solve the problem more easily."

Tuesday Update

Isaac said, "On Tuesday, we didn't do rocket math.  I don't like rocket math."


Our math target was, "I can regroup 1 ten as 10 ones when there are not enough ones to subtract."  This target was very tricky.

Isabelle said, "Today we watched a science video.  It was about plant habitats."


Our homework this week is our animal reports.  Check for your child's report packet tonight.

Fun Run!!

Clayton said, "We did the fun run today.  I got 10 laps and had fun.  I beat Mr. Hoglund!"


Thank you to the parents who made our fun run so great, today!!  We had a wonderful time and ran many laps.  If your child forgot his or her pledge sheet, please return it on Monday.


Today, we talked about animal reports.  Your child selected a wild animal from a list.  The report overview and expectations will come home on Monday.  We choose animals today so kids that were excited could research earlier.  Your child will need to know what the animal looks like, where the habitat is, what it eats, what it does, and 2 interesting facts.
